Alright, this is my first blog entry after my webmaster nagged me (worse than my grandma) “Hey, when are you gonna blog?!! Without it, I cannot do much!”
So, I decided to, (~ahem~) OFFICIALLY, start my blog with a shoot that I did today.
Joanna B., a 5ft8 beauty.
During the shoot, everytime when I wanted to show some poses, I gotta stand next to her… and by doing that, I really felt like a dwarf esp she had her 3in high heels on (yeah, those who know me will understand what I mean).
Anyway, enough bout my vertical challenged torso.
This shot was taken at a shaded area. The shadow did not do justice to Joanna’s beautiful features, and if I used a flash on top of my Nikon, the image would turn out to be FLAT and NOT flattering.
“Fine, just go with ONE light and KIS (keep it simple)”.
Took out my Nikon SU800, popped it on my Nikon as commander. Got a Nikon SB900 with a shoot through white umbrella and set them up on a light stand at camera’s right.
Meter off the background grass to get the ambient exposure and underexposed it by bout half stop to make it slightly saturated (not too much). After I got the exposure, I set my SU800 using TTL to fire the flash to light up Joanna’s beautiful face.

Sometimes when you are tired with too many variables, KIS might surprise you…
